Whole Body Communication

Before humans developed spoken and written language we communicated like other animals – through posture, gesture, rhythm and tonality. These channels of communication still exist between people. the set of someone’s shoulders, the position of their chin, the movement of their eyes, a tapping foot or finger can tell you more about someone, or tell them more about you than streams of words.

Fighting is essentially a form of communication. It is the most primal statement of ‘I am here – pay attention to me’. Martial arts are a refinement of this deep and ancient language of bodies.

We use these principles to help you make the most of your communication, to develop your presence, and become curious about what subtle patterns of body use mean in yourself and in others.
